Overall grade
How it is calculated
Your cumulative GPA is compared with each honours tier, highest first. A failed course rules honours out, whatever the GPA.
| Honours | Minimum GPA | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Excellent with Honor | 3.8 | CGPA from 3.8 to 4.0 |
| Excellent | 3.6 | From 3.6 to less than 3.8 |
| Very Good | 3 | From 3.0 to less than 3.6 |
| Good | 2.5 | From 2.5 to less than 3.0 |
| Satisfactory | 2 | From 2.0 to less than 2.5 |
Overall grade on the 5.00 scale, as Saudi university regulations commonly set it: Excellent from 4.50, Very good from 3.75, Good from 2.75, Pass from 2.00 (one point lower on the 4.00 scale). Your university may differ.
Worked example
3.6 <= 3.79 < 3.8
