How it is calculated

Each course's credit hours are multiplied by the points of its grade. The term GPA is the sum of those products divided by the total credit hours.

For the new cumulative GPA, your previous cumulative GPA is multiplied by the hours it covers, this term's points are added, and the total is divided by all hours.

Worked example

On King Saud University's 5.00 scale: 3 hours at A+ (5.00), 3 hours at B (4.00) and 2 hours at C+ (3.50) give 15 + 12 + 7 = 34 points over 8 hours, so the term GPA is 34 ÷ 8 = 4.25.

What is GPA (المعدل التراكمي, grade point average)?

A grade point average is your result across courses on a points scale. Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours, the results are added up, and the total is divided by the credit hours. The semester GPA covers one term; the cumulative GPA (CGPA) covers every term so far. Each university sets its own points scale and grade table; the calculator uses your university's.
